The Nutcracker Ballet - a Ballet
in Two Acts
Spurwink River Publishing is proud to be the distributor
of this wonderful version of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet.
Dr. Lawrence Golan,
Resident Conductor of the Phoenix Symphony and Professor
of Conducting at the University of Denver’s Lamont School
of Music and his associate Joanne S. Woodward, violinist
with the Portland (ME) Symphony have thoroughly and carefully
reduced the score with an eye and ear to today’s smaller
orchestras. Through some clever and meticulous rearranging,
all of the original parts are covered. Nothing is left
out, but there are fewer wind, brass and percussion parts.
The result is that there is no sacrificing any of the music
and the ensembles are better able to fit into orchestra
pits and ballet budgets!
